Then Theme Check will help you out with that. Theme Check was written by Simon Prosser and Samuel Wood (Otto) and it will check your theme for the latest spec standards. The plugin can also check for broken links, missing files and other errors. Theme Check is definitely recommended for development purposes only.

Downloading and Installing
You can download and install the plugin via the WordPress admin dashboard or manually installing it via a FTP program. After installation and activation, you will see a new menu option pop up.
You should see the following screen:
The plugin is incredibly easy to use, just select the theme that you would like Theme Check to check for you by using the dropdown menu:
After clicking the “Check-It” button, the first thing you that you see is the Theme Info section. This section lists different details of your screen.
If your something is wrong with your theme, or child theme, you will see a warning. (as shown above). Now let’s take a look at some of the errors that can appear.
There are many different kind of warnings, requirements and recommendations that you can get. The great thing is that the plugin even tells you which line you can find and highlights some of the most important pieces of information.
